Creamy Udon Noodles
Udon don’t even know how good and simple this recipe is.
Ingredients
(Serves 3-4)
400 g udon noodles (we usually get the fresh refrigerated ones)
100 g thinly sliced Korean style beef (thinly sliced brisket or rib eye)
3 cloves garlic minced(the more the merrier)
6-8 shiitake mushrooms, sliced (or white mushrooms if that’s what you prefer)
1 onion, diced
1 tbsp soy sauce
1/2 tbsp sesame oil
1/2 cup cream
2 cups beef stock
2 tbsp unsalted butter
2 tbsp all purpose flour
1/2 tsp white pepper
1/2 tbsp sriracha (optional)
Green onions for garnish
Instructions
In a medium wok on medium heat, add 1 tbsp of cooking oil and add in pre-sliced beef. Season with salt & pepper
Once cooked through, remove and set aside
In the same medium wok, heat butter over medium heat. Let the butter fully melt and brown for about 30 seconds afterward
Add mushrooms, garlic, and onion. Let them brown for about 3 minutes while stirring
Add beef broth, soy sauce, and white pepper, bring to a simmer
Add the Udon noodles and cook for 3-5 mins
Add cream and stir to ensure everything is combined evenly
Add the beef that you previously set aside back in
Finish by stirring in sesame oil and sriracha
Let the sauce simmer and thicken for about 5 minutes. Add flour to help thicken if needed
Serve in your favourite bowl and top with green onion!
