Fried Rice
10 minute fried rice!
Ingredients
(Serves 2)
1 cup leftover rice
2 cloves garlic, chopped
1/4 onion, chopped
1/2 cup cabbage, chopped
1-2 Chinese sausage links, sliced
1 egg
2 tbsp. sesame oil
1-2 tbsp. oyster sauce
1-2 tbsp. soy sauce
2 tsp. ground white pepper
1-2 green onion stalks, chopped
Great Additions:
Broccoli, chopped
Yu choy, chopped
Sliced chicken (breast or thighs)
Instructions
In a wok, heat up sesame oil and onions on high heat
Once the onions start turning translucent, add the chopped garlic and cook for 2 minutes
Add rice and soy sauce, cook for 2-3 minutes or until rice is broken down and browning
Add Chinese sausage and cabbage (also add chicken at this time if you’re including it), cook for 2-3 minutes.
Add oyster sauce and any additional veggies. I also like to add a few teaspoons of water at this time to help steam the veggies and give the rice some stickiness.
Once everything is at desired doneness, create a pocket and add the egg. Break the yolk a bit and let it cook for a minute or two so that the egg solidifies.
Once the egg has cooked, break it up and stir the scrambled egg into the rest of the rice. Add the ground white pepper and serve!
